Pushbullet's Top 5 Highlights Of 2014

By Ryan Oldenburg on

Pushbullet in 2014

When Ryan started Pushbullet over a year ago, none of us could have imagined what it would turn into. We are really proud of what we have accomplished this year and extremely grateful to you for your support. We thought we would take this opportunity to share with you some of our highlights from this past year.

Your notifications, everywhere

Last January we added the ability to see your notifications from your phone on your computer. We improved it this year by enabling you to interact with your notifications the way you would on your phone: You can now delete an email you get on your phone without ever taking it out of your pocket and reply to text messages right from your computer.

More features

In August, we added Universal Copy & Paste, which enables you to copy text from one device and paste it on another for the first time ever.

Then, later in the fall, we introduced Channels. Channels are the best way to get alerted about things you care about like Steam deals, sports scores, and updates from sites like Android Police, and more.

More platforms

It is crazy to think that we did not even have an iPhone app a year ago. Not only do we now have a very good-looking app, but we are weeks away from having an amazing iPad and Mac app as well. They will have the same cool features our Android users enjoy, like Universal Copy & Paste and phone-to-computer notifications.

We were going to say that we made major improvements to our Windows app before we realized our Windows app did not exist last year either. Since its release in February, we have continually added more functionality and we are now very close to releasing the first non-Beta version.

Much Design

We have made huge design improvements to Pushbullet this year. The Android app is almost unrecognizable from a year ago and we made drastic improvements to our website and our browser extensions.

All the languages

Thanks to a wonderful community of over 400 volunteers from all around the world, Pushbullet is now translated in more than thirty languages.

Thank you

The biggest highlight of 2014 was not a feature; it was people. The Pushbullet team grew this year—to a whopping total of six people. As a larger team, we have been able to make Pushbullet much better. This is great, because Pushbullet has gotten a lot more popular with over a million users.

We feel extremely lucky to have such a passionate and dedicated community, which is clear from many of your messages. Thank you so much for being a part of our journey so far, and we hope to continue doing what we do best in 2015 and beyond.
