Allo (Google's brand new messaging app) is missing one feature that those of us who spend most of their time on a computer really want—the ability to send messages from a computer.
While it's not a full desktop app for Allo, Pushbullet can now enable you to see and reply to Allo messages from your computer. Here's how:
WebExtension Update For Firefox
Yesterday we released a very special update to the Pushbullet Firefox extension—our Firefox extension is now a WebExtension!
WebExtensions are a cross-browser compatible system for developing browser extensions that is compatible with Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. Soon Microsoft’s Edge browser will support them too.
A Fresh Start For Pushbullet On iOS
We’ve made a lot of improvements to Pushbullet in the past several months. Unfortuantely, however, many of these improvements haven’t been available in our iOS app. As a small team, we’ve had to consider how we can deliver a great and consistent experience across all of our apps.
To ensure that our iOS app gets all of the latest features, we’ve made some changes to how we build our apps and decided that a new fundation is the best place for the Pushbullet iOS app to grow from. This is today’s update.

We've been working hard to make Pushbullet the best way to send texts from your computer. We started by syncing conversation histories and adding support for end-to-end encryption to ensure your privacy. We then added support for group texting. Today we're adding the last missing feature: picture messages!

We’ve got two great updates going out today. Here are the details:
Group Texting Support
Our latest Android update adds support for replying to group text messages from your computer or Android tablet. This has been a popular request for a long time so we’re really happy to have it ready to go.
Our Chrome extension, website, and Windows desktop app will start letting you reply to groups as soon as you have the latest Android update. Our Safari, Firefox, and Opera extensions have updates to enable group texting submitted for review today and should be available soon. (Replying to group texts does require your phone be running Android 5.0 Lollipop or later.)
Browse Your Files Remotely From Any Device
Remote Files is a new Pushbullet feature that lets you browse and request files from any of your devices.
Forget a file on your work computer? No problem at all. With Remote Files, you can just go grab it using your phone and it will be pushed right to you. It’s super simple. The file doesn’t need to be in a special folder, you can browse and request any files.
It works the other direction too. You can also access your phone’s files from your computer or tablet. Remote Files makes everything just a tap or click away.
